When do you meet for worship?

We meet for worship every Sunday 10-11:15 a.m. and 5:30-6:45 p.m. at 466 Woodland Ave, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

For the last year, and the next year or two to follow, the morning preaching will be from the Book of Revelation. The evening preaching is from the Gospel of Isaiah. You can listen to past messages here.

Do you have a Sunday School?

Yes. It meets 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Sunday between September and June. We have classes for all ages of children, and several classes for adults. A unique feature of our Sabbath School is an adult discussion class. In this class, our pastor, Dr. Richard Ganz, leads a discussion about his sermon. This discussion class is open for questions, comments, clarifications, criticism, challenge, and appreciation. Our other adult classes are as follows: A class studying Reformed theological doctrine, and a class is examining biblical parenting.

What other meetings does your church have?

There is a Wednesday night prayer meeting at the church. There are six midweek area Bible studies at different locations throughout the metropolitan Ottawa area. For more on our Bible Studies, see here.

What is a worship service in your church like?

We endeavor to be biblical with everything in our worship service. There is preaching, praying, and singing, all of which is entirely based upon the Bible. We welcome you to come and see for yourself.

What is the preaching like?

In the Ottawa Reformed Presbyterian Church, the preaching is expository both in the morning, as well as the evening, services. Our pastor is presently preaching through the Book of the Revelation in the morning, and preaching through the Gospel of Isaiah in the evening.

Yes. There is a nursery room available which parents are free to use if their children become restless during the service. There is also a nursing mother’s room connected to the sanctuary with a one-way window into the sanctuary. Children of all ages are part of God’s covenant community. They are welcome in the worship service.

Are you part of a denomination?

We are part of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America.

Is there anything unique or different about the Ottawa RPC?

We are unique in a number of ways. These include:

1. Our denominational history. We were birthed in persecution and suffering.
2. Our hymnal is the song book that is found in the centre of the Bible, the Book of Psalms.
3. The unwavering commitment to serious expository preaching.
4. Our commitment is to the Word of God, not programs.
